2009-2010 Work Year Information for CUPE Employees
The 2009-2010 school year, in accordance with the approved school year calendar, is September 2, 2009 to June 30, 2010. September 4, 2009 is a non-instructional day. Article 15.01 – Hours of Work and Work Year (page 18) and the Job Classification chart in Article 15.04 (page 21) of the CUPE collective agreement detail the Employee groups that are included in the Articles referenced below.
For twelve (12) month CUPE Employees included in Articles 15.01(a) and (b), September 4, 2009 is a scheduled work day.
Employees included in Article 15.01(c) will commence the 2009-2010 work year on Thursday, August 27, 2009. The five working days prior to the commencement of the school year for these Employees will consist of August 27, 28, 31, September 1 and September 4, 2009. September 2, 3 and 4, 2009 are scheduled work days. The last day of work for the 2009-2010 school year is July 8, 2010.
Ten month (10) Employees included in Article 15.01(d) will commence the 2009-2010 work year on September 2, 2009. September 3, 2009 is a scheduled work day. September 4, 2009 is not a scheduled work day.
Consistent with Article 18.07, Employees who are not scheduled to work on September 4, 2009 shall use any unpaid days in those periods as vacation days with pay from their total vacation entitlement.
